Superb Ammolite is a gemstone, coveted for its beautiful iridescent colours. The most desirable shades are blue and red. Many cabs have lines, which are the natural pattern on the ammolite and not flaws.
The colours are from the natural shell nacre of fossilised Ammonites, an extinct creature related to modern day nautilus.
This beautiful cab exhibits many colours, from yellow green through to emerald green, orange and blue when moved in the light.The colours does not show well in my photos.
Flat backed and polished on the face only.
